If you've ever tried to make a living online you probably know it is not that easy. There are many things you need to be good at whether it is picking a niche, creating content for Google, doing keyword research, writing articles and posts to getting traffic to the site.
One thing you must never do is attempt to trick Google. There are many services around that will rewrite articles and post them to low grade blogs in an attempt to create backlinks and push their sites further up in the search engines. This is a complete waste of time. It may have some good effect in the short term, but somewhere down the line Google will find out and penalize you in some way.
Essentially Google wants to see content and lots of it. The internet was not really put there to make money from. It is there to educate and inform. As such you need content in order to do educate and inform. There is nothing worse than coming across a website that is full of junk and promotional material.
So we have to go ahead and start creating content for Google. Not any old content though – your post has to provide value to the reader.
You are probably thinking "Hold on I am not a good writer". Don't worry, you don't need to be Dan Brown in order to churn out good valuable content. There are different ways of going about it. Obviously it helps if one is a good writer as you can write with passion about something you enjoy. The alternative is to outsource your article writing to a third party service. This can have its drawbacks though twofold. Firstly the author needs to research the subject and obscure subjects can result in an article which lacks something. Imagine you had to write about something you know little or nothing about. Not easy is it? Another issue is outsourcing abroad to a country where English is not the first language. The article you get back may be very good, but in some cases may not be what you expected and you may find yourself having to make corrections.
Another alternative is to buy what is called PLR articles. These are private label rights articles which have been written by a third party. You are allowed to modify the article any way you choose and even add your own links and name to them. There are PLR article packs on many different subjects and you can find one for just about all the major niches. Don't just blindly load them up on your website though. Make sure you spend some time rewriting them. Personally I would take every sentence and rewrite it. Avoid using article spinners also.
Give your website around ten articles to start with and aim for twenty overall. The more you have the better and if you can get at least one hundred then Google will start to love your site. Twenty gives you a good basis to progress further. No need to produce something along the lines of war and peace. A solid four hundred word post of solid content is a good benchmark to be aiming for. Some people prefer to aim for the thousand word mark, but everyone is different.
The post or article needs
A good title
To have a good spread of keywords sprinkled throughout
To be informative
To provide value to the reader
Try not to ramble on aimlessly. Include images or videos in your posts. You can get these from Google images or sites such as big stock photo. Videos can be found on YouTube and embedded within your post.
